i take an inordinate amount of pride in the instances i choose to scrap together a meal with the tail remnants of last week’s grocery trip rather than spend $13 on the sandwich i’m so badly craving.
the sandwich: hardboiled egg, roasted asparagus, pickled onions, arugula, dill-dijon aioli, ciabatta.
the meal i actually made: low sodium roasted red pepper and tomato soup with parmesan...
maybe because i have cabin fever or maybe because it’s just that time of the year
but
today i suggested to daniel that we develop some sort of signature thing that happens at all of our parties. and that i want to throw more parties.
he looked at me like he always does when i suggest something requiring effort, slumped shoulders and eyebrows raised - ‘like what?’

when i visited home the other week my dad told me how much of a shock it was to him that he made it so far in life, career/charity/family-wise.

so i’m anxiously waiting to hear what happens with DOWNWARDLY MOBILE the new Roseanne show that i interned in casting on (until they fired the whole department). from what i’ve gathered in the comments on nikki finke, the fat lady hasn’t sung yet. ie, it’s not officially dead.
i will be utterly shocked if ANYONE takes it to series. the script was pretty fucking stupid.

The closest ive ever come,in recent years, to the joy of Domino’s pizza Thursdays at Warner middle school is the personal pan pizza from pizza hut at target. I think the secret is letting the pizza sit hot in an unopened box for a long time.
